NEW ACTION design

In the process of building the prototype Dragon Slayer break open action, it was discovered the Farquharson based Wyvrn action would be much easier and simpler to build.  Therefore, I have decided to build the molds for that action first. 

I was searching for a method to build this action so a "full length" rifle stock similar to what is used on bolt action rifles could be used.  This type of stock would be much easier to build and install.   

This has been accomplished.  While designing this action, it turned out several small changes could be made to the first design that will allow the builder to build any one of four different actions from the same kit!  The only differences will be machine work on the action and changes to a few of the parts.  Most of the build instructions will be identical.

Actions that can be built from the kit would be the Model A, C, E and this new one which will be designated as the model B.  Had to "fill in the gap" there didn't I?  Yes, there is a "D" which can also be built from the kit, but it is a bit inconvenient to use, so I might not make it available until after I've actually built and tested one.

The new action will be much lighter when completed.  The action lever will be on the bottom rather than having a Farquharson style side lever. This lever is designed to blend in with the action contours for a much cleaner appearance.  The top of the action resembles an EXTREMELYSHORT (approximately 1.75" long) bolt action rifle sans the bolt...which is replaced by the exposed hammer.

When the action is installed in the stocks, the only parts that will show will be the trigger guard area, the action and the hammer. 

In any case, somewhere along the way, photos of the new action(s) will be posted.  It just takes a while to get things built when you have to do all the work yourself.
